Keeping a walking routine during lockdown
Updated: Apr 13, 2021
Hi there,
As we all know, the last 9 months with COVID-19 has taken all of our plans and shaken them up completely. One thing has remained constant - your pet(s). Being home with them has been rewarding (I hope!), and now that it's been a while without us being there for you and having them on a consistent walking/exercise routine, keep them your dog or cat active is still of utmost importance. Being active with your pet helps to keep yourself and them in shape.
For when you resume dog walks with us, you'll want your pet to have a routine down and some level of fitness. If you've been keeping them active while being home for the last 9 months, that's awesome, they'll be ready to go. If you haven't been keeping them active, it's a good idea to start getting them into a routine.
Keeping your dog fit and bringing them on exercise walks will help their health (and yours), lower their boredom levels, keep their scent receptors fresh as they'll be picking up many scents while outside, and help them feel that they're on a routine.
The daily monotony of lockdown has been affecting us all - we all want to get away, out of the house, and find some semblance of a normal routine. It's been very hard to do that. I know it's cold, January and February in the northeast are hard weather months, but we will make it through. Keeping your pet on a walking routine will help them be happier and ready to resume a walking schedule with us when you return to your office.
If you want some tips and tricks for walking routines, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here for you.
